Louisiana baseball avoids sweep to Rice with shutout win in Game 3

LAFAYETTE, La. (KADN) — The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns rebounded from back-to-back losses to Rice with a shutout win in Game 3 on Sunday, Feb. 25.

The Cajuns (4-3) got the 3-0 victory over the Owls (3-4).

Carson Fluno (1-0) started on the mound for UL and earned the win. He allowed just one hit and struck out six batters in 5.0 innings of work. The Cajun pitchers only gave up one other hit in the game while striking out 12 batters and not walking any.

Both Conor Higgs and Kyle DeBarge hit solo home runs in the win.

The Cajuns remain at home to host in-state rival Northwestern State on Wednesday, Feb. 28, at 6 p.m.
