LAFAYETTE, La. (KADN) — Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns' defensive coordinator LaMar Morgan is being hired by Michigan as its defensive backs coach, according to multiple reports.
Matt Zenitz with with 247Sports, who first broke the news, said he learned about the hire from sources. He added Morgan impressed the university during the interview process and was recommended by former Michigan defensive coordinator Jesse Minter. The pair worked together at Vanderbilt.
Morgan spent the last two seasons with the Cajuns as the defensive coordinator and safeties coach. In this year's New Orleans Bowl, Morgan's defense scored more points than the Louisiana offense.
He played safety for the Vermilion and White from 2003-2007.
