LAFAYETTE, La. (KADN) – A new large patio-style bar is celebrating its grand opening in Lafayette.
The Yard Goat is located on Bertrand Drive near Moncus Park and Cajun Field.
The bar was packed Monday evening for its opening night.
The Yard Goat is modeled after a successful patio bar in New Orleans called "Wrong Iron."
The owners say they want to be known for the walkable, bikeable, and dog-friendly atmosphere.
And in case you're wondering, Yard Goat is the slang nickname for the worker that switches the tracks on a railroad.
