BATON ROUGE, La. (KADN) — Faith leaders from across Louisiana are calling on state lawmakers to oppose new legislation that will bring back electrocutions and allow nitrogen to be used as a form of execution.
Priests, rabbis, and other religious leaders rallied on the steps of the Louisiana State Capitol on Wednesday, Feb. 28.
They also presented a letter signed by more than 200 members of different faiths to lawmakers.
Final passage on the bill is pending.
It's expected to go to the governor's desk by week's end.
